Do you wave? Do you wave back?
I'm a waver and a racer. A little friendly competition won't hurt. Those of you who say that's what tracks are for, are also racing on the streets (perhaps not planned, but are).
I suppose when I see the other Pcar driver and would like to or attempt to wave, I would either feel a receptive wave back or feel the stand off-ish vibe.
If the driver is looking straight ahead or other way, more than likely two things: sees his car as a money pit or is a lower model.
For the spectators, yes I give them a rev or two (mostly the kids, as I believe that's when the passion and spark starts by my smiling, waving, revving...few years later might see the young lad in one, and that's what makes Porsche...Porsche.
For other specific models/years:
991, I feel they think they're better, and if they bought it right off the lot, I don't blame them for paying msrp +tax and additional costs...sure you deserve being a 991 on the road.
997, seem to be busy folks, in a rush for work or a meeting, to keep up with payments.
996, toss up. Some wave, some look like they want to say, oh darn another porsche, I should have drove my 991 today.
Turbos....they wave and they race.
993 and older, either a fun wave or...it's just a car, I'll be on my marry way now. Beep beep.
Cayman and Boxsters: wave and want to race with the 911's. They drive near and behind like bumblebee, backing us up if need be.
Panamera, Cayenne, Macan: Hate to say -> soccer mom. Would love to race ya, but the kids are in the car, or I have a furniture in the back 'look'. Now if it was a turbo s...I had actual feedback of, oh ya, I also have a 911, but I also bought this heavy Pcar to also let you know, I'm still down to burn rubber, and enjoy family outings.
Do you feel the same way?

we have 100 911's per sq miles here
YOU i'll wave at
I thought we were supposed to flash our fog lights ? At least I try but to reach for light switch and pull and turn is a lot of work and not always convenient.
I wave down low when I am my motorcycle and will always get a wave back (95%).

I usually watch for the wave, and if it happens I wave back. Been stood up too many times to initiate it lol.
If its a 996TT I wave and they usually wave back. C4S falls in there too.
The older air cooled cars, I feel like they don't want to let us water-pumpers in their waving club...but again if they initiate I return the favor.

Not an option for Canadians... DTRLs are on all the time.
It's a bit different here in Norcal on the roads I drive.
I only drive a couple of miles on 2 lane roads, most of my driving is on the superslab, a.k.a. 5 lane parking lot
Consequently, 99% of the Porsches I see are going the same direction as me.
I ignore Cayenne's and Panamera's. This is reciprocated...
99x, 98x (and older) cars, no matter if I'm going faster or slower, I always glance over. If they are looking too, I wave or give a thumbs up. I probably have a 25% chance of getting a reciprocal smile or wave.

Dude - I got some new car rugs, they really make the room.....
I wave at all nice cars... a truly special Ford Moostang drove by today, glorious sound, I waved and he ignored me.. later he drove by as I was coming out of my driveway with my newly polished Porker and he gave me a thumbs up
Donnie was a good bowler
Haha...I think I waved once to someone while in my Cayenne TT and mind you my cayenne was lowered on 22's, downpipes, bov's..the whole bit and surprisingly FAST....but nothing in return from a fello 911'er. Not surprised though.
A while back I rolled right passed (10mph or so) a C4S..looked over to smile and give a thumbs up and the dude wouldn't even look at me! I was thinking...'you know what f%^&ing car I have *****' So at that point...I blip my throttle (had race pipes on) to make sure he knows he slower than me.

I feel like the wave was a bit more popular years ago than it is now. I think for the older gens, waving is more likely than for the newer model Porsche's.
