Sorry for all the mess , my advise is :
- Get mafless tune , run fender intake
- Check your WGs pressur when it do open
- check your cooler
- check your Diverter valves
- check your Ypipe if it slip out
- run EBC , as its way better to adjust boost yourself !!
So I was trting to visualize the air flow path and why the boost leak tester would show 20psi but the dash gauge only read 0.3bar when doing the boost leak test. After drawing it out on paper, unless there is a physical obstruction after the intercoolers to the MAP sensor it has to be an issue with the MAP senor itself?? Make sense?
PS, if anybody is doing a boost leak test can you check what your dash gauge reads while doing it? I'm curious to know if the 0.3 bar mine shows is a default setting because a lot of the systems are off. Or if something is actually wrong with my map sensor.
Sambo, Markski or EPLtony should have experience with this, I would think the MAP sensor shows intake pressure whether on or off, but like you said it may be default.
As I said datalog the bloody car... there could be a simple problem with the dash gauge... mine is off ALL THE TIME and my car runs perfectly... check with a 3rd gear WOT run and durametric measure... its a cheap diagnostic test

OK tonight I am checking the DV's and if they check out ok I will datalog it.
I would datalog it right now but my laptop battery doesn't hold a charge and my inverter is at the cottage so I will grab it this weekend and bring it back and datalog next week.
My stupid thung went haywire late last yr because my stock battery was effed... I thought I had a leak but my car was doing great times... all of my dash went crazy.. showed empty gas when I was 1/2 full... no boost when I was hitting 1.4 bars... on and on.... cd player went crazy..
datalogged the car and all was good... bought a new humongous battery and all is normal

Yeah, low voltage is known to mess with the dash for sure.
Wouldn't you know if the DVs were leaking while doing the pressure test? I'm sure you would hear those leaking/bleeding off pressure. Pressure test would mimic 100% throttle I would imagine. To verify your dash gauge is freaking out....just buy a cheapo boost gauge at the parts store, put a T in your line to the BOVs or N75, etc..and go for a run. Or like said above..just data log...should provide the same results. At 1.3 bar it should be hitting much harder as said before as well. What is your 'seat of pants' dyno telling you?

The DV valves just divert boost internally and not to the atmosphere so a boost leak test wouldn't show if a DV is faulty.
My butt dyno says it is not running 1.3bar on K24/20G turbos. It feels like it did running 1bar on the stock K16 turbos (if that).

The DVs divert the air to the intake track from the Y-pipe...so for example if one is stuck open a little bit...it would bleed off air into the intake behind the MAF...thus causing pressure loss.

Believe the butt dyno!
Ahh ok. Makes sense. Especially since I took the DVs and tested them and they are perfectly fine.
stupid question, but who did your tune and how do you know it is setup for 1.3? Have you talked to the tuner?
Yup, spoke to my tuner a couple of times. He has been a great help. He is on stand by waiting for me to send him a data log so he can have a better sense of what's going on.
