Dying for this new black headlight option for the 996. Why don't we start a kickstarter type fund for this project so we can finally get a kick *** headlight upgrade? I'd be willing to pitch in a few bucks towards purchasing the test light and whatever else we need to do to accomplish this goal. I'm surprised its taken so long!
Yes - I'm looking at that route as well. I am working with the guy who made the internals for this - He is onboard and just waiting for me to send him a light...
Hope to have mine back some day, a car lighting guy has had
them for awhile now. Doing LED turn signal indicators in the housing, painted everything satin black. I believe he replaced the HiBeam with a HID housing and bulb as well.
I have to stress - I don't need new lights to work on - cracked or broken housings are OK. I just need semi-intact internals for measurements and test fitting - the electronics don't have to be in working order. Anyone???

There are two (2) 996 TT headlights on the Pay it forward section,,,!!!!
man, if had those, i'd probably bail on the TA bumper i've got my eye on. is there even an estimate of how long this r&d might be to actual availability?
slider, you spent iirc 3 years on the led tail project, and while i will never doubt you? i have my age mortality to think about. lol.
those blk ones look wicked,.. not convinced on the halo rings ( yet? ) but man, you are again, to be applauded. seriously.
This one should be a couple of months from start to finish, but it would involve some DIY for anyone interested because you will have to modify your own lights. The guy I'm working with can fabricate the internals - he has access to CNC and upgraded electronics but he can't fabricate the external enclosure so that would have to be reused.
The "halo" effect can be controlled separately and can be customized for each order.
diy component to this? that puts me in the penalty box. I can diy my maf and that's about it. but I guess if there were more instructions than tarret gave us for the camber plates?! I could give it a shot
Well... if some enterprising individual (such as myself) had some time to do up an extra set or two by getting extra sets of "core" lights, one could always offer a service to supply sets that have already been converted. I find I get better and better with more experience at a specific DIY. I would always do my own set first because I wouldn't want to risk someone else's stuff. Once I had a pristine set in my possession I wouldn't be afraid to offer the service to someone else knowing I could just sub in mine if I screwed something up.
