killer idea, and I applaud it as well. I'm just not sure I'd want to be second lol but I do have my maf replacement down to oh about 3 mins lol all kidding aside, if you fixed your camber plates on your own AND your cracked rear tails?? I'd trust ya with my lamps.

Slider I am interested in the upgrade for cosmetic purposes since my 2003 TT has xenon high intensity headlights. Do you know what year they started using xenon? So will we be able to transfer the internals to the new units?

Headlight Update
Did some turbos not come with a bi-xenon projector? Trying to understand the objective.
I'm all about headlight upgrades when needed. I bought LED JW speaker lights for my classic Range Rover, output on the turbo is really good.

What are the goals here? The main benefit of projected HIDs is the control you get for low beams (which allows for the higher light output without blinding other drivers).
For the highs, just throw power at them. I don't think you'll get much better output with HIDs on the highs than with a quality 100w Flösser/Philips/Osram halogen and maybe a relay.

My goal is to update the look (mostly) while updating to the latest and best projectors available. I know some people are happy with everything about the old lights - this mod isn't for you. The new LEDs in back update the car to look quite timeless. I want to front to be consistent with that overall look.
I don't have any information on when HIDs were available stock. Anyone else?
I am having some trouble contacting the guy in Japan - still waiting for an address to send the prototype lights.
