Wow. I would love to know the details of this one, speeds involved and such. I always wondered how cars like this would fair in a crash. Not good seems to be the answer.

Sickening images, but that kind of speed on a public road? Insanity.

Road looks fairly straight? I wonder how it all went wobbly.....
The area looks as if it could be in Italy, in the Po River plain and not too far from Maranello in fact? Can someone decipher the telephone number on the bill board in the accident area?

Hey **** happens, no car can defy the law of physics. This case is indicative of this as well as Ben's accident. Physics cannot be manipulated or defied unfort. These so called supercars IMO are no safer than any other top of the line auto, perhaps even less due to weight savings being at a premium. Remember when that *** clown pro boxer Prince something or other demolished his SLR in Canada when overtaking a slower vehicle.
IMO a S Class Benz or 760i BMW are about as safe as it gets out there and please no one say "oh yeah well what about a H2?" cuz if you are that dumb you have no business behind the wheel of anything.

Race cars are designed to disintegrate. Thats to dissipate the energy from the crash. That Enzo however, split in half. I doubt anything else going at the same speed in the same sort of collision would have faired any better. No one is immune to the unexpected.

I would say around 160-170mph if not more. The monoque in the front virtually disinigrated. Terrible tradegy, but we will continue to see this. People with more money then drivign skills that under estimate how quick death can occur with a 600hp supercar.

OMG!! Based on the amount of shrubbery on the vehicle I would guess that whatever it hit may have been on a parallel or adjacent roadway then it plowed through the bushes before being cut in half perhaps by a tree. No other damaged vehicles on this particular road can be seen. No skid marks either.
