How Badly Will Alex Pull On Me?
How Badly Will Alex Pull On Me?
I spoke with Alex (Protomotive 996TT) today -- he is a great guy. His car sounds remarkable and I am looking forward to seeing it firsthand. He has some modifications that are truly unique (I am sworn to secrecy). During the course of his project, he has encountered, and surmounted, some rather extraordinary obsticles (e.g., snapping mutple axles because he is generating so much power).
Alex will be in Los Angeles next week and we have agreed to get together both to talk shop, and to line our cars up. I am confident that he will pull on me, but it will be fun nonetheless.
So, the $100,000 question is: how many cars will Alex pull on me?

Oh, this will be good. Make sure to go from a higher mph roll so as to reduce driver error. Perhaps both in 3rd gear @ 60mph or so?
That will separate a few things:
- driver shifting error (at least until you reach 104ish mph where you have to shift to 4th)
- turbo lag (whoever has the least amount of lag should pull first - whoever has the most hp to the ground should pull back/ahead even more)
I'm just trying to cut down on the variables so that you can run car vs car. Try to get it on video if you can!

Win or loose you'll have fun. Honestly, I do have to say his is on another level to ours even... It's crazy quick. Alex vs Alex will never happen because we've made a pact to let the better Alex win. Alex vs Alex would be like Jessica vs Ashlee Simpson- it just can't happen. However Alex vs Alex in the strip club.. now that might work...
Craig,
I would suspect the difference will be above 5000/5500 rpm's. I don't believe the peak torque will be all that different. The difference will be the torque sustained once peak torque is achieved. This difference can probably be attributed to head work and related breathing.

Hmm im not as experienced as you guys with these cars, but honestly with your knowledge and knowing his mods, it should be fairly easy to come to a conclusion saying all the conditions and driving are the same.. Good luck and take a video of it
