Swap 996tt drivetrain into a 997tt?

Has anyone swapped a 996t motor/turbos/etc into a 997tt? I have a 996tt with some recent damage that I'm considering removing the drivetrain and parting out. Then looking for a 997tt roller to swap this driveline into.

Has anyone done this? does it all fit? What is the difficulty of doing this if any? The current motor is very built, 750hp+... so i want to retain and enjoy the build still if possible....

Any thoughts?

Yes, pretty straight forward. That was one of my considerations while building the engine/trans in my 996.

Just throwing this out there...my understanding is 997.1TT engine is more similar to 996TT VS the 997.2TT. Not sure how much impact that would have on a swap like this?

I have experience just switching a tiptronic motor to Manual 996tt both motors almost all of the accessories are different in some way or another.

moving to a 997 there are even more differences.

your looking at pulling the current engine out of 997.1, remove all accessories down to basically a short block and then putting those accessories onto your old block. can it be done yes, fun uh no.

BTW wheres the pics of what happened to the 996tt?

It's really not much work at all to swap components from one short block to another. It's a half day job at most.

No pictures posted anywhere yet. I'm waiting for all of the insurance stuff to be done.
