Internal alarming of car.

Sorry but I did search but cannot locate this issue at all. I drive the car to work, arm it and walk away, at the end of the day I disarm the car and it beeps twice which started happening for a few days now.

I get in and the red light is on for the inside door lock? I try and push it to turn it off and it honks twice but will not unlock the doors, I hear it trying to unlock but it doesn't.

I check all the doors and arm rest to make sure they are not open and nothing is out of the norm, I even open the passenger door and close it and it bounces back as the door mechanism has locked

Do I have a short somewhere??

When my 2002 Boxster door lock would lock on its own, even relocking when I unlocked the doors via the dash unlock button, when I went to lock the car with the key fob button and the horn would sound like it was signaling something was ajar, and when the window would not drop when the door was open or worse drop but go back up after the door was open, the culprit proved to be a bad passenger door lock module.

A tech with the Porsche diagnostics computer can query the security system module for errors and from these probably make a high confidence diagnosis.

Be sure the cabin is dry, that the floor under the seats is dry and the bottoms of the doors are dry and there are no sounds of water in door when you shake it. Check the body water drains for any blockage. If you find all is dry then my WAG is the door lock module is the source of the problem, but you need a pro's diagnosis as this unit is not cheap.

+1 to the door lock mechanism. common point of failure and symptoms as youve described.

i would bet the passenger side needs a new door lock mech its the same as a 986 part but there ARE left/right so ensure you start with the passenger side if you buy the part.

Thanks all, I had a feeling it was the mechanism in the passenger side. I did have an issue last year with the driver side but we fixed that so I guess it's the other doors turn
