Question Fabspeed Muffler Bypass Pipes

Any one use these on their 996 or 996TT's???
Is this the best way to go for max performance with exhaust upgrade excluding change out of the headers, since no muffler is used. Heard their video on standard 996, just curious if I would gain HP on my GT3....

Extremely loud and may be illegal in some states due to sounds restrictions. Likely great for the track (with earplugs)

Get um Chris!!! I have heard them in person and they are a needed awakening for the exhaust on the 996 (N/A). However I love the sound of the GT3, I wonder if it would change it or just make the sound louder...and yes Fabspeed does make power. I will be at my shop this weekend b4 and after dynoing a Fabspeed quiet on a Upsolute chipped car...so I will confirm my previous comment..

None other than Superfly Sharky has them. If you check out the Fabspeed webpage you can see a video of his car with the straight pipes.

And believe me, after our run to German Auto Fest, yuou can hear them loud and clear.

I think that the bypass pipes are illegal in NY, but you could always swap it with your stock muffler before the car inspection.

Yeah, the problem with us New Yorkers is that our cars need to be inspected every year, and there is no way around it. Poor us.

Fabspeed says they are legal in all 50 states. The muffler's are the only things that are bypassed, not the cats, therefore there is no emissions issue. I am not aware of a noise decible test for NYS inspections....

Oh, great, thanks for the info, I might just have to buy them then (to me they sound great), but only after the winter, when "modding season" occurs.

Where did you find the bypass pipes where you can use stock tips, from what I see, you cant use stock tips.

Go to the fabspeed site. I believe you can use your own tips, but you will need to call to confirm...

You guys are talking about 2 different bypass pipes....
Chris (Rockitman) is talking about the bypass pipes for N/A cars...
Alex (Sharkster) has the bypass pipes for the Turbo...
These are 2 different systems...the ones pictured above are for N/A Cars ONLY.
These are the turbos ones (no you cannot have tips, I called Joe direct and even as a dealer they would not do them for me, which is why I didn't get um )

Regards,
Evan

Too bad... But it looks easy to mod the metal at the end of the bypass pipe. It looks like all that needs to be doine is to make the end of the pipe small enough so that the stock tips would fit right on.
