outstanding one of those absolute top of the line no better solution things i just could never justify the expense of! good for you! interested to hear you impressions once you have enough seat/track time w it!
Dumb question (and I know it is dumb becaue I am asking it)
Can one get a sequential that looks like a stock 6MT gear stick.... ie doesn't stick out like a humonous ***** plunging into mother earth

in theory....YES
the theory is , keep the shifter as close as possible to the steering wheel to reduce the milliseconds needed to go from wheel to shifter and back. to reduce the height reduces the effectiveness of the shifter. ...in theory

there is a company in california who has a more custom version of this kind of shifter. mainly used to convert gm/ford auto trans to paddle shifting.
