Wrapping vs Painting a car white
You guys are making me reconsider this wrap thing. I'll call around and see if I can find someone to do it for cheaper who isnt' goign to cut up the paint or leave weird bubbles.
Thanks for the opinions. Optino 2 is to pay for a car that has some additional benefits to it like upgraded turbos, suspension, welded coolant lines, etc etc that happens to be white and just dump my current car.
So instead of paying to do mods to my car, I just pay the delta in my car's value to that car and then get the color change free? This would take a massive stroke of luck though
I was quoted $3k for a full wrap on my Cayenne GTS by the best shop in FL. They do a lot of high end cars. They would send their best guy from their Miami operation to do it at their shop here in Orlando.
The only wrap they quoted higher was the full bright chrome wrap at $6k. It does not stretch like the regular wraps and is very difficult to do perfectly.
My Cayman S would be less. Probably $2500/5000.

not that it matters.. just dont pay more than 3k for a good wrap
lol
I think we can (mostly) all agree that reliability is more important than color.
Sounds like you have a good solid car, which is great.
I actually sought out a seal gray 996TT (instead of silver or black) as I really like the color, but the mechanicals had to be there.
If you're dead set on a color change you're probably better off selling your seal grey and finding a car in the color you want...

Friend had his car painted a VERY awesome white. quoted a few weeks to do the job.... we got some weather... insurance work takes priority.... I think total it was about 5 months start to finish? Looks GREAt but wow paintshop jail bigtime! So there is that when considering paint. If the car were a bland color paint might be a better option but I think the grey is a little harder to find than say silver like mine or black. White is even harder to find though IMO so GL buying one in white if you seriously try that path - unless it's a GT2
Dangit! I've never liked it...I just bought it because I found a car at the dealer that I could get for a song and it came CPO'd when the car was like 8 years old.
And it can look good for substantially less than $6000, if done carefully. Adding color matched wheels would expand the effect.
Good luck with your choice.
