Wrapping vs Painting a car white
Tough one. Personally, unless you frown every time you look at the car, I keep the one that you know has been reliable and had no issues with. Maybe add some red to it sort of like the 997 GT3-RS? That looks beautiful.

The result compared white vehicles with all other coloured vehicles. MUARC’s research showed there were a number of colours related to high risk, including:
Black
Blue
Grey
Green
Red
Silver
None of the colours tested were statistically safer than white, though some had equal relative crash risk.
We are all doomed !!!! EXCEPT YOU YELLOW PEOPLE

And on the wrapping note, I got quoted from two different company yesterday between $1750-2000 to wrap the vehicle without door jams. All in sacramento, well recommended by my vendors who often have their vehicles wrapped for advertising purposes
1) Plastidip..lol. Maybe on a civic - I've just heard the horror stories. Sorry you had to live through them!
2) I'm not feeling the giant porsche lettering on the side. Just not my style, but you're right...it would work.
3) RE: the wraps. I called two more places that were highly recommended...one was 5500 and one was 6k. So they all are focusing on how precise they are and say that they don't use any blades near the car, they remove all the body panels, and some even warrantied the work for 3 years. I think that Seattle just has a lack of...how can I politely say this..."cheap" labor vs California or Florida. So when you are going to take 5-8 days to get this done, it's going to be pricey. Apparently wrappers here in Seattle expect to make like 50 bucks an hour

I think I convinced my wife on just upgrading to a white 997TT in a few years. So I'll camp out, maybe get my suspension done so the car doesn't float around so much and just hope I don't blow out my coolant lines or lose another clutch accumulator!
i just ended my 6 month experiment with that crap. it peels a heck of a lot sooner than that depending upon where it is on the car! surprisingly, my wheels lasted the longest while the turbo inlets and mirrors got scratched and mauled fairly quickly. gonna redo some of it and use proper paint more lol

Never heard of a place removing body panels to wrap them. I'm not sure that is the best approach since sometimes it can be difficult to get body panels lined back up perfectly when re-installing.
Sounds like you are calling places that are used to charging Ferrari/Lambo tax. I would seek out a place that charges something more like Mercedes/BMW tax, lol

I'd go wrap over paint. As previously mentioned, it protects your paint underneath while maintaining the value of the car because of the original color. Plus it is easier to change your mind if you ever decide to.
One of the two places I spoke to removes fenders, hoods, bumpers to wrap. The other did not indicate. Both places indicated 5 days to wrap
OP @ 5K-6K for a wrap, they must not do very much work or their shop meets USP 800 clean room specs to keep the vehicle sterile.

Ajs76 your last post made a lot of sense and agree with waiting and getting another car in the color you want. No way I would pull panels on my car for a wrap but everyone has their own take on that I'm sure.
