Hi guys,

I need to get a load of cosmetic stuff done to my TT. Caliper repaint front and rear, wheel refurb, window tints (possibly) and some dents/chips.

Currently I have grey/anthracite F14's and dark window tints. I'm in two minds regarding what to do.

A - Refurbing the wheels in the same colour but gloss rather than matte and then having the windows tinted a lighter shade to almost match the wheels.

Or

Going gloss black on the wheels to match the currently quite dark tinted windows.

Window tints are a necessity here, where it's stinking hot!

I think its personal taste. Both would look great on it. I am running into the same question. Also, you could between the two and get an anthracite finish.

I hear you on the tint. We are at 115F today in Phoenix

 

I'd vote for gunmetal in gloss finish...you may also want to consider getting the rear bumperettes painted, that will update the look a bit.

I have my seal grey bumperettes on order...

 

I actually like it the way it is, are those 19" wheels, what size tires are you running.

Thanks for your thoughts. Hard to know what to do. I might go for a lighter tint as it's a bit 'gangster' for me.

 

i've just re-filmed my windows 35% smoked, same tint on headlamps ( again the sun bleaches it out FAST!) X anthracite grey wheels and soon will have the anthracite painted calipers with white porsche decals and black many other places on a once silver car. it looks the business. i think, got about 5 compliments just from being in traffic yesterday.

i took a cpl phone pics but they kinda suck. but if needed i'l share. go for it. changes up the car. I've done it like 4 times already lol

oh, also i just matte blacked out my f14's but that was cheese whiz ( were originally brushed aluminum ( nice ) and i just put on the OZ grey wheels recently.

add: i guess you dont know "wrexham lager" lol. you're lucky! ha

 

Not exact but related - I just switched the wheel look on my BMW from matte graphite to gloss gunmetal and it looks amazing. I was happy with the matte graphite too but after I bent 2 rims it wasn't going to cost me extra to switch the look with the repairs. The gunmetal gray with a gloss clearcoat looks awesome - really dark but has a bit of a sparkle in it.

My car is white so it definitely pops.

 

I know Wrexham, it's a town in North Wales, but I know not of the lager. Assume it's a tramps No.1 choice budget beverage?

Think I'm gonna refurb the wheels in gloss anthracite and tone down the tints.
