You said it got hot when the battery was overcharging right? I'd expect that to damage the battery.mhowever there's also been cases of a regulator drawing the battery down. If you can get a good battery in there and measure current draw you'll have a better idea as to what's going on IMO.

Ya..it was hot and I saw fluid pumping out of the overflow tube. I ordered a voltage regulator and pulled the alternator tonight. Be here in a couple days

ignition switches can cause a myriad of issues, and on-top of that are a common failure point in these cars...good maintenance item that might also solve some of your issues.
Durametric to start and dealer if no results..

Despite this I would not replace the ignition switch at this point. Get the charging system fixed and go from there. If the ignition switch caused absolutely no probs before the alternator issues, it is one of the items that will def not be affected by overcharging.

Sorry, but I like to know exactly what caused a problem and what fixed it. Throwing parts and money at a car is a common repair tactic (even at dealers) that makes me sick.

If you want to replace the switch as a maintenance item, do it once the car is back up and running.

Not yet. Pelican parts is not the fastest shippers. After 3 days it's still in California

Ya, I've never had any of the ignition issues.

No big deal if no hurry, probably could have gotten locally faster. Amazon is a good place to look and usually fast for me as is ECS Tuning.
