Sorry guys, I missed a lot of these great tips as I was out of town. So Johnny advises the super shear 3m product without pinning and ron cooper says to pin it at an angle as I think thats the only way to do it with the engine in the car. Hey Johnny how confident are you of that 3m product WITHOUT pinning? I know you have done a few of those.
thankyou gentlemen,m Mike

Well the 3M glue is prob 10 times better than the rubbish Porsche used so theres your answer, personally I pin as well but if it means taking the motor out just to pin 1 I would be fine on just the glue, the pinning takes no time to do so its a safety aspect, prob totally un-needed.

I think technically you could lift the whole car on the fitting with a 4000psi shear strength.

For the female bore on the housing what size emory cloth or sandpaper would you use since the surface now is very smooth?

40 or 60 grit, you may be able to get a flap wheel in there on a flexi drive from the drill.

Keep in mind if you ever plan on taking the car to the track most require pinning at the minimum. Also I don't think I'd buy another that wasn't pinned or welded.
