Nurburg is infamous around these parts
When I will managed to use a ramp I will fit that front GT3 bar.
I bought the Rennline drop links which are connected to the aluminium carrier where are the bolts to hold the dampers. They are obviously shorter compare to the stock one but even with the front lifted I struggle to reach full lock on both sides......on track it's ok but for road use....maybe not .
Are those are just for motorsport ? or should have just bought the same drop links , long like the oem , adjustable which are attached on the top on the aluminium spring holder ?
I really need to get more infos on the right adjustable front drop links to use with stock or GT3 sway bar.
Did rebuild my suspension front and back , new mounts, new dampers, etc...with the rear GT3 bar set one hole before full stiff and the car feels great !!! New Michelin Cups fitted so I take it easy for the first 100 miles or so.

If you read my post number #12 earlier in this thread this is exactly what I was talking about. The only real solution is to use extended length drop links to raise the pick up point thereby reducing preload/binding at large steering angles. Tarett makes the longest ones I know of and they work very well but you need to have enough room below your spring perches to mount them. The higher you can mount the drop link on the upright/shock assembly, the better. Again, the problem is the fact that the GT3 front bar is just not designed to clear the front axles on the TT.

realizing you have the *proper* gt2/3 uprights and your front end geometry properly dialed in ( unlike some of us ) but i am wondering if you ever ran a gt3 bar in front even just while experimenting pre rwd?? as just a gt3 bar rear is most common given the oem front drop links ARE too short and the gt3 bar isn't "designed" for the 996t for the reasons you stated.

just curious about it, and also what if anything you feel would actually be improved? by running a gt3 bar up front with the taretts? i know the gt3 rear is a world of taut improvement over the stocker. appreciate your insight? TIA.

About 3 years ago when I had the standard AWD front uprights on the car, I tried fitting the GT3 front bar and gave up as it would not work properly. If I recall, I could only use the 5th outboard hole which is the softest setting for the bar, probably roughly comparable to the stock TT bar. Anything closer to the bar would cause binding due the the large sweep of the AWD uprights when turning. I wasn't until I swapped over the the GT3 uprights that the geometry was corrected to where the GT3 sway bar could be used properly without issues. Even with the GT3 uprights it helps tremendously to use the extended Tarett drop links which all but eliminate any binding while turning.

Incidentally, I run the front bar one hole from it's stiffest setting and the rear bar one hole from the softest setting. For most guys the ultimate goal is to make the back end looser on the street to make the car more lively and easier to turn under throttle (basically opposite of the technique you will use at the track). As such, installing the rear GT3 bar is really all you need. For the track the front bar is a necessity as it allows you to tune the car more towards understeer which will allow for faster corner entries under braking without the car becoming loose. Hope that helps...

x'lnt info john, thanks.

what I've been told, and what I've done, as I'm not tracking, the rear stiffer bar seems to suffice and works well. the gt2/3 uprights/stubbed axles etc and all else are in my future plans, so i'll add the front taretts to that "list"

again, thx.

I just purchased the GMG Racing WC 996TT sway bars...they are made by Eibach I believe.

My local shop installed them in less than 2 hours. Perfect fit (stock ride height & stock suspension) and set to full soft front full hard rear they have improved the understeer situation I was experiencing. Not eliminated, but definitely less push than stock. A good bolt on for those of us who choose not to or can't lower the car (due to driveway issues, etc).
