Anyone running 20" wheels on their 996 Turbo?
Hey guys. I got a good price on a set of CCW SP100's in 20x9.5 and 20x11.5 with a 38 offset on the rear and 42 on the front.
Anyway anyone running 20" wheels and if so with no issues?
Thanks for your help..

Personally I think 20 inch is too big for 996 also I think the offsets are too low (wheels not flush with fenders, too far out). Perhaps someone else can confirm the offsets. I think 19 is the largest size that fits the car and still looks proportional as well as allowing you to run tires with some sidewall. I plan to run 19's on mine but I wouldn't even think about running 20's. Just my .02

Came in here expecting something hideous, but those wheels look really good.
Only downside I can think of is tires being outside of spec for the AWD, but then you could always do RWD conversion. Also, if the back spacing is too conservative, you can get some spacers.

I had Techart 20" wheels on my 05 TT when I bought the car. I put on 997 Turbo wheels (19") and I like the ride and handling much better. I think the 20"s were too big in my opinion.

A more troubling situation is that all but one tire company has discontinued 315x25x19, the only rear tire that will work on a 996tt. Nitto still makes them (not rated very well). If they also discontinue then what do you do with your 4-5k set of wheels. Either you drop back down to 18" or risk running 20" on our pothole filled streets.

I was running 305/30 235 combo for a few years on 19" and just went to a 295/30 for some extra fender clearance recently. No issues and it's been that way for over half my cars life.

20s are an extreme size for a 911, IMHO.

I know that's not a 996, but I think the 20 inch look is pretty consistently large - probably too large for anything but a showy-type car. Nothing wrong with that, if you're just going for the look.
