Something else is going on. Hitting the rev limiter is pretty obvious, so you probably wouldn't be mistaking that...

What I want to know is where you have enough road to get to 188!

 

191mph according to my speedometer, but I have 1" larger diameter tires so I should have been going a little bit faster. Ran out of room on highway , came up to traffic.
Also my Rev limiter is 7400rpm

 

I live in the Illinois in rural areas. I can go as fast as I want, any time of day, 20 seconds from my house.
I lived in Tampa for a while and absolutely hated not being able to drive fast.

 

Dont know my fastest, maybe like 310-315Kmh on the dashboard, but I did once 188mph without knowing/wanting it, car was just asking for more and felt stable. I was running at that time A3076 @1.3bar 4WD and we were 3pax in the car !!! The guy behind saw the speedometer and said.. Hey! So this is how 303Kmh looks like!

 

By a GPS NAVI unit and not by the speedo 165mph (or was it 168mph?) on a deserted private road way out in the middle of nowhere.

There was more speed to be had but I was running out of room.

Stock 2003 996 Turbo.

 

186 mph but it was in the rain

 

183 and pulling like a freight train! But the tail lights of the traffic was approaching pretty fast so I had to pull the chute...lol I would like to know where the Tip tops out?
