997.2 or gt2rs cooler fix

If you're not in a real hurry, I can provide you end tanks with quick connections. I'm facing the same problem and in the middle of getting tanks made. Quick connections are ready (CNC machined) and first set of tanks (laser cut) done, but measurements need to be adjusted.
They would be sent complete, but you'd need to get them welded to cores yourself.

the only way your going to stay in plastic is to find another set and rob them. or have a mold made for plastic or c/f and have them custom made. wither way its going to cost more than what a new set or a set of 4.5" i/c will cost. sadly these are now paperweights.

And that's the problem with a many gt2rs Ics. They do blow up. In the end, the cost of Saving initially bites you later. I had one client who who bought my 4.5" Ics go Thru 2 sets of rs Ics before he leaned his lesson. Some just leak and cause weird error codes. Hard to find of you don't pressure test from bottom

[QUOTE=MARKSKI@911tuning;4417337]i aree with you Marski too much pressure can blew gt2rs IC but from meth ignition everyting blow! like intake manifold ,Y Pipe and of course my gt2rs IC! but without a use of meth pushing it max 1.8 bar should not be a problem...bin there done that long time from my experience

The "crapness" of these cores is proven in this thread.
How end tanks are attached to the core is another, completely different issue. No need to dump good cores if there's a solution. BTW, 996 ICs made by Behr don't pop, so it's clearly something in the aluminium Reus uses. Too soft, most likely.

This failure was the result of a methanol vapor explosion in the intake manifold which also destroyed the aluminum y-pipe. No intercooler would have survived this. You're looking at a pressure spike well over 100 psi.
