Manual to TipTronic swap question for 1000whp
oh so the owner himself told u that?wow! u really are in the know...
BTW just got off the phone with Kevin from UR and everything you said is false just as i thought .UR has not released ANY DCT cars and have had zero issues with it,you have bad info !
also did u see the DCT shop car Huracan went 202 in the half mile on stock tires ?
I am pretty sure they still developing the whole platform and testing the limits of each system before they release them.

I was told they have had problems with BOTH the original single clutch trans and the dual clutch. That it was a serious b!tch to get them to shift right especially compared to a GTR, they still don't shift as good as the GTR. This convo was inrelation to enzo tuning the trans for his 1800+ R kits and how the trans are very hard to figure out from their end and alluding to the fact he would never figure it out....... Obviously he is going to say "no" everything has gone stream lined, I was told that green car was a customers car (maybe I was ill informed)......I honestly don't care for you entitlement attitude though, the arrogance just streams out of your posts, Good luck I am done acknowledging your posts, you aren't worth the time....

Your car is part of the reason I sold my 1000 hp TT '71 Chevelle back in the day. I wanted a p car bad. Then divorce happened...
I remember us chatting and you offering to let me take your car for a spin when you were in Chi.
I think I may just keep the 6 speed... I am in the process of developing some trick pieces for drag racing these bad boys. I will test them on my car in spring.
Thanks for the reality check. Lol

see above post from Kevin @UR....
The EGear that is in the Gallardo will never shift as good as the dct that is in a GTR or any other dct because of the design of the trans.A DCT works like 2 trans in one each having its own clutch so it able to have the next gear engaged and waiting for the upshift and u can't do that with a single clutch trans like the Egear. That in no way means they had a "problem" with them.
Underground racing has been building the Egear that came in all the Gallardos for years and i don't know of anyone having a problem with them that have UR cars.Mine sure doesn't. The Green Huracan is a customer car but that has an air shifted dog box trans (totally different than an e gear and a dct) and that shifts hard and fast.
OK sounds good to me ,wish i could do the same for your inaccurate posts but unfortunately i can't ,so when u make inaccurate posts I'm gonna call u on them.

To the OP's question. I'm not sure anyone has done a swap from 6 speed to a 996 tip tranny in a 1000+hp 996 car with huge success. The 997TT tip tanny is stronger and better suited for upgrades as Ecanoo is running 8's on their 997tt Tip tranny if I recall. If you want to drag race your 996, get a powerglide. Even the sequentials are difficult to launch and are $35k.

just an interesting outside the box thinking. you can throw huge power at that trans and its peanuts to mod and find. might be a legit answer to getting these cars off the line hard
I was under the impression that the 996 and 997 tipTronic is the same. I thought the difference was in the TCU?
I'll tell you, after taking my RS6 around the block 10 minutes ago, it sure is nice to just put the car to the floor and go quick, so smooth. Kind of why I want an automatic.
If I could get my transmission to shift like the T56s I build. With some bronze sliders and billet keys, those transmissions shift like butter at any rpm.
Maybe I should throw one of those in the car and make it front-wheel-drive, ha ha.
