So I've been tossing up the idea of ditching my entire six speed set up and going with a tip Tronic. I'm just curious what you big power guys are running for 60 foot times with the tipTronic and stall converter, and how well they're holding up, I have no problem with a yearly freshen up.
Big power is a relevant term, but for me it means 900 to 1000 at the wheels. I'm running GT30s on E85.
I know it is a big swap in the opposite direction that most people go, but I like automatics.

Thanks for any input from you guys.
Might be easier to trade cars with a guy like me. I have a modified 996tt and just had the tiptronic built to handle 1000hp (according to the builder anyway). My car is currently only making around 500 whp. Haven't had it dyno ed since the latest work.
The tip will be slower..........why not just put a power glide in it lol.......if you are looking for an automatic beast like a GTR you came to the wrong platform. also UGR had lots of trouble tuning that dual clutch trans in the lambo, think someone mentioned that in the other thread u made.
That's probably the easiest way, and I even thought about that if I had to. The problem is that my car has a lot of stuff on it. It's got the full carbon fiber body kit, coil overs, and the 15" Brembos. :/
If I decide to do it, I still think my best bet is just to sell my complete set up and then pick up all the parts for the automatic swap. It's not something I'm in a rush to do, but it's something that I'm pondering.

HUH?the tip if done right can perform as good as a manual at that power level especially if the driver is not that great at banging gears.also they actually work better at the drag strip unless the driver really knows what he is doing in the manual.UR had no problem tuning any trans ..... you mean the e-gear?its a single clutch and they operate just fine you misunderstood what was said.Joe

UGR has had their hands full with those trans the double clutch, thats well known in the industry. Ive also heard from other owners about it. They had issues with the new Huracan, several cars had to be sent back. That doesn't mean they didn't eventually figure it out but someone like this guy coming out the gate might have a lot bigger issues.......also the Tip drops ALOT of RPMs on the shifts more then the Manual, I've seen it first hand from a roll.......

I guess it's sort of an all-purpose car, I take it to shows, I'm going to take it to the dragstrip most of the time I love to drag race, do some autocross, and just enjoy the car on the street.
How many guys full power up shifter transmissions? If I keep the six speed I plan to set up no lift shift. Just curious how well it works for you guys?

You can also get a SQS Sequential shifter and keep the 6 speed......

Didn't realize you were so "in the know".lol I don't even know of them releasing a dct Huracan ,either way i guess it doesn't matter as far as the OP goes.Have you checked some of ES Motors cars with the tip and how they run?

ES Motors uses JBE Racings components in some of their builds........they asked him to sell them some of his kits that he made in house for the Tips and what he has done.

I have met the owners a few times when they came up and Gabe is always a wealth of knowledge and on the up and up with the UGR stuff. I usually hear from him directly.

oh so the owner himself told u that?wow! u really are in the know...
BTW just got off the phone with Kevin from UR and everything you said is false just as i thought .UR has not released ANY DCT cars and have had zero issues with it,you have bad info !
also did u see the DCT shop car Huracan went 202 in the half mile on stock tires ?
I am pretty sure they still developing the whole platform and testing the limits of each system before they release them.
