Manual to TipTronic swap question for 1000whp
I thought about that too, I think the car had a B and M shifter when I bought it with stock cables. So I went ahead and bought a numeric with the numeric cables. It definitely improved things going on but still not glassy smooth, more resistance going into each gears and I would like. Almost like I need some EBC yellow stuff syncros,(love those brake pads). Lol
I then figured I would try a new clutch so I bought the ERP and at the same time through a GT2 slave on it. I like the clutch, but the pedal definitely got stiffer, but I still need to change out the spring.
When I pull the tranny apart eventually, I'll see if there's some little tweaks I can do to make it shift smoother

I have a silly question. When I was asking on the forums about swapping my built Tip to a six speed, I was told it wouldn't work due to my engine being different. So did they actually build a different engine for Tips vs Six speeds?
Engines are the same, only real difference I can think of is Tiptronic cars share the power steering pumps with GT2, and alternator is unclutched on Tips..
We are still debating swapping my dad's 6TT to manual, desire vs effort...can definitely be done.

Interesting, I gave up the idea after a very reputable "regular" racer on here told me the engine was different!! I'm back on this again now! My Tip is performing great but I'm tired of the smirks on people's faces when they look inside my car to compliment how nice I have fixed up the interior and see the shifter has a button on top and not a shift pattern!!
Interesting indeed....
I'll add, as further confirmation, crankcase and crankshaft part numbers are the same...engine harnesses the same, etc etc..
Cheers,

Are you running a Sprint throttle amplifier? I run one on medium. Really makes the car funner to drive.
too bad! would've been the easiest/cheapest way for sure.
dad's car is 100% stock besides currently running my old wheels, will tune(probably EPL as well) it at some point so no reason to try the Booster-seems to be 50/50 people who like/dislike them.

I'm still trying to figure out the best plan for what I want for the car.
One of the big factors, is what is my six speed set up worth.
Just to build the automatic will cost me serious money in parts, plus a standalone TCU. And thats after I buy all the stuff for the automatic swap.
I would sell my entire 6 speed setup with all new steel syncros, pedals, GT2 clutch slave setup, ERP triple disc, rear axles, and front diff. Tgat way someone would have everything needed for a full serious swap. But it would all depend what I could get out of it, if I couldn't get what I need it wouldn't make sense to swap to an automatic. But I would still have to purchase all the automatic stuff. Any ideas what the complete setup might get money wise?
