Who here has a built tiptronic?
Yeah..same engine as SL65. When I bought mine we put it on Tony's Mustang dyno. I think it made 575/765 with just a flash, nothing else. Ran 10.99 first time out...But yeah, mechanical/electrical nightmare...had to sell it...
It's a nag 1 ... or a 722.6. Chrisler uses it in the 300. It's a mopower. The main stick and valve body are the same in all the applications. The gear ratios and casting is different . Mersadies makes it but now mursades and chrisler are the same company.
m/b and mopar split back in 06. its all mercedes and mopar used m/b parts in the 300.
The link doesn't work for me .
Why are people speculating that these trannys are failing?
Who here that has a tip blew their tranny because of too much torque?
I know of 1 tip that has failed because of too much torque.....bht when he had his tip years ago but he was racing that thing a lot with a lot of low end torque
If you're shooting for 1000+ i understand...

Thanks for the link Pat!
Renntech and IPT both have all the traditional upgrades, such as improved clutch material, upgraded valve body and custom stall torque converter. Gearstar adds extra clutches by way of machining the k3 drum. Perhaps Renntech and IPT do as well, but they did not disclose that info.
I still would like to talk to southern and paramount.
Obviously, i'd like to get the most bang for the buck, and make sure I don't have to drop the transmission again due to not beefing it up enough. Having said that, all these shops seem to have a great reputation and probably can't go wrong with whichever I choose.
