What does this plug go to?
That was only a guess. Your car being a 2001, the wiring diagram is a bit difficult to see and to follow from page to page....There are not too many pink wires on this car, we will found it.....
Do you have a tiptronic? I can see a solid pink wire going to the tiptronic transmission and coming from the transmission speed sensor????? Just for info....

I appreciate the help.
I'm just reinstalling the engine in the car after a transaxle rebuild and engine maintenance, so the battery is not connected.

It is really frustrating because there are not too many units with two wires plug and none with a solid pink wire as per 2001 wiring diagram that I have. I also double check with the 2002 wiring diagram and still the same....
Lets consider we have a two wire plug with a red/blue wire. This plug can be connected on
1: intake pipe change-over valve.
2: Camshaft adjustment solenoids , both side...
3: secondari air valve.
4: N75 valve. (also white/green)
5: tank vent valve.(also violet)
6: both solenoids for valve lift. 4-5-6 (white/green) 1-2-3(white/red)
OMG can it be violet instead of pink?????

I think this is the plug position you are looking for!!!! Tank venting valve!!! A red/blue wire and a violet wire!!! This one looks good
But probably difficult to reach. May be you should lower the engine a little bit (4 inches) to reach it.....
