Rear Wheel Bearing Experience??
Rear Wheel Bearing Experience??
I'm hearing what I think is wheel bearing noise from the rear of my '02 996tt that has ~130k miles.
I can't feel any movement in either wheel on jacks, but then I couldn't feel it in the fronts that I recently replaced.
In the front, I couldn't hear or feel any play but upon replacing the shocks, I pulled the knuckles and on once in hand, one it felt rotationally rough, the other was down right sloppy. I replaced them.
Any experience/advice would really be a appreciated.
TXX,
MK

x posting for the other thread assuming it's yours?
in any event:
all i remember it as was as a low pitched and consistent and very low frequency low pitched whine/rumble and when you can temporarily diminish if not eliminate it while slaloming while turning hard left/right. when the wheel was turned left at low speed ( IIRC?? ) it would go away and it was the right rear wheel bearing ( again, IIRC? ) was bad. the "slalom" was they key to identifying the sound/issue. for, me of course.
gl wi it!

NP..it usually does, if it's indeed wheel bearing related. remember, can always meet at that top of or below @ pch e.g. any of the canyons from pch to ventura county line are minutes away ( no traffic : ) have a quick listen if this issue persists, absent a conclusive determination. quick listen is usually all ya need.
