I see your point, some say they just leave that unattached to save future mishap.

Large hole





.25 inch plate with silicone pad.





Wire welded on to fish down in to plenum. Top cap was the same .25 inch with silicone pad. I bolted the 2 together and the hole was fixed. About 2.5 hours and back on the road.

If there is a boost leek that you can't find most likely this location is busted. Typically it is a horse shoe crack and it acts like a reed valve.

Is that on the left rear side? Could it happen on the other side?

if had this failure i would control my motormounts too
