Xona vs Garrett?

Xona vs Garrett?
I decided recently to purchase new A28 turbos for my 996tt. I found out Tial is no longer Garrett based, but Xona. I don't know much about Xona, but was wondering if there is any substantial differences that would be beneficial or detremental? I searched the forum and Internet and couldn't find much. Thanks for the help.

Hi John,
TiAL has been working with many different manufactures and I need different set ups for a long time. They have created what is in their mind the next level turbocharger. They are quite awesome and a work of art. Everything is at race grade and machined from billet stainless! The famous alpha turbine housing's, compressor wheels and compressor covers have always help them achieve more from Garrett based set ups. Xona is pretty awesome. Let me know if I can help with anything.

Tial Alphas have not used a Garrett wheel for a LONG time, i want to say since at least 5-6 years ago. They did use the center section from Garrett up until last year tho.

Figures can get pretty dicey form one car and one set-up to another. But on the older set-ups for example you could get quicker spool form an A28 vs a K16 and make up to 800 crank hp without getting into Methanol, Ethanol or engine builds. With an A30 framed turbo you can get quicker spool than a K24 and make from 800-1000 crank hp on standard race fuel. Now with other fuels or Meth/Eth, larger displacement and such you can make more. The Xona stuff is only better and ore are coming on line now so we should see more results soon.
