sorry to hear rob...
sorry to hear rob...
Thanks guys! I am also dumbfounded by the response, what would be a miniscule sunk cost/write-off will likely become a much larger 'opportunity' cost to them...It's ONE WHEEL that is now being display across the Porsche forums and will come up when OZ is searched on google or similar....unreal!

Rob

So just how far out is this wheel? Are we talking MMs or 1/2 an inch. I have the same wheels on my car and will be checking them soon. Hope they survive my first track day in this car at Laguna Seca, i like to use the curb entering the cork screw.

about 1/4-1/2" in different dimensions, here's a poor video which might give some idea of the severity...worse in person

Wow, just wow!!!
I would have expected much more from these two companies, thats a real shock.
I sent emails with copy and paste of both forums to Tirerack and OZ stating how bad this really is, not only to you Rob but also to their future business with who ever googles these products or their names.
Somehow I dont think this is over, yet.
I had mine straightened as it was just minor, came out just fine. We'll see if they hold out in the long run but I'm not holding my breath.

Thanks Jim!
I don't think they realise it's a P.R. nightmare if they shunt customers into the corner; Porsche cars has to be one of the larger markets for higher cost wheels and the news is out on 2 of the biggest Porsche forums...
I am way more shocked TR hasn't helped me vs help from OZ
I'm hoping the best for your wheels!
Cheers,
Rob

I'm really shocked that Tire Rack didn't support you more, those guys were always golden in my book. I too have used them for both tires and wheels and I need wheels for another car now. If they can't handle something so obviously wrong no way will I trust them for that purchase. That's really sad. What was their basis for the denial?
I buy a fair amount of product through them and surprised they simply came back with a (paraphrasing) 'you must have done something to it', 'if it was a week old or so we could maybe do something...'
I understand receiving a faulty product as things can slip through the cracks in mass production, but am very disappointed in the lack of responsibility or resolution to this issue.
All TR or OZ would've had/have to do to make the situation right is 1)warranty/replace the wheel, 2)offer a replacement at 'cost'/rebate(I paid full cost for a new replacement), or now 3)refund my money for that individual wheel, and this whole thing is settled...I'll bring the old 'pretzel' back on the next tire shopping spree....
It's all about how you your treat customers...my TR rep is a great guy, but whoever is running the customer service 'game' up-top is ruining something that was great....

Rob

"Thank you for bringing this to my attention. I have forwarded this on to my manager to look into.
My experience is that OZ is one of the more lenient manufacturers out there with warranty/ defect issues and I am quite frankly surprised that a legitimate defect claim would not be honored.
Thanks again for the heads-up".

Shocked to hear this and the outcome of this will definitely have an impact on where I buy wheels/tires in the future. Was actually thinking of going with these wheels for autox or future HPDE but not a chance if this is how they treat their customers.
Thanks Jim! I'm sure the more feedback they get the more likely they are to come to a proper resolution.

Rob
Customer service is such an important aspect of business, even more so in the modern era with fast and broad communication...good service upfront would have 101% changed my opinion of the product and service.
Cheers,
Rob
