OZ Alleggrita wheel issue
I have just gotten off the phone with my Tirerack representative and we have reached a resolution I think both of us are happy enough with.
A few points we talked about and I would like to clarify if not already widely understood:
1) Tirerack has always been very prompt and courteous with their customer service, this has never been an issue to this day. Despite our dispute over this OZ wheel, they are still a great company to deal and I have no hesitation continuing to purchase from them.
2) The issue was strongly related to me having a wholesale account, vs a standard retail account; there is some greater leniency for retail customers.
3) Due to the volume of sales, Tirerack has set protocols for dealing with each individual product/company instead of sending the product to manufacturer; warranty validation is done on-site using these manufacturer protocols.
4) Tirerack still maintains I am at fault, I still maintain my position it was a faulty wheel. We are leaving it at that.
5) I will be keeping a close eye on the new and remaining OZ wheels which now reside on my dad’s 6TT.
Thank-you all for your support, inquiries, and continued interest.
Best Regards,
Rob

So Tire Rack compensated you to the extent that you are happy? Good for you!
Do I understand #3 correctly? OZ was never actually involved in assessing your warranty claim? It was all done by Tire Rack according to a set of protocols?

That is correct, was given fair compensation... my TR rep. Mac and I are looking forward to continuing our past 'business'- fat tires for fast tires
Cheers, Mac!
#3, Yessir, that is what I have been told...I guess OZ is only involved if the warranty meets the set criteria
Thanks again!

I am glad things worked out. And TBH, this really does make me feel better about my OZs.
General policies suck for dealing with individual problems. Every general policy needs an exception.
I will be running my OZs on the track - I am going to buy a second set. I will report back on how they hold up.

I'm confused, what exactly is it they think you could've done to this wheel to warp it so badly yet not mar the finish? Are these not forged in some way? I'm trying to imagine what they think you did to bend AND twist this wheel...
Thanks brother! I'm sure the OZ product is still goodstuff and will continue to run them on my dad's 6TT. Agree on the policy issue, still don't understand OZ's criteria for damage vs warranty, but I've been taken care off and I'm happy again.
Cheers,
Likewise! Not traditional forged but use what they call HLT technology, like rotary forging.
I still fully believe it was a faulty wheel, which is fine as the situation is now resolved, and I'm a happy customer again.
Thanks Mark! I think both Tirerack and I won in the end; although Tirerack will be compensating out of their own pockets, I'll still be long-term customer and hopefully everyone here still considers them a great supplier as well
Thanks again Jim!
It was always more of a 'principle' issue vs a money issue, IMO the right thing has now been done and I'm looking forward to tire season!
Thanks for all the support guys, and thank-you to Tirerack for coming through!
Regards,
Rob
Now if I can just get Tirerack to carry the Falken RT615K's...

strength in numbers rob..if even when we aren't always sure if even our combined noise had anything at all to do with your success,. probably not! maybe it was the combination of concerted complaints ...! who knows?! again bottom line is, you prevail and again and TR still OZ still get "our" biz!..
again,... congrats!
