575 hp ? with just a tune?
so call it a 12% drivetrain loss with RWD. That puts it at 570 hp. She definitely was not talking to the wheels.

The car is great, it has had the 1 bar waste gates and Ar designs cat less exhaust.
I see sustained 1.2 bar and spikes up to 1.4 bar. I will be getting Kevin to send a new tune soon.
Ive been around cars my whole life, I've known lots about this car for years. My first passion is cars and its hard to believe coming from a female. Every car person I meet doesn't take me seriously until we talk.
The springs are slightly too low and on the stock dampers not great. The rub is over large bumps at speed and the front only at full lock. These wheels are amazing and aren't going anywhere although I did get the stock twists as well. The fender lips on this car aren't rolled at all from the factory which need rolling anyway in my opinion. The car is having the bumper and hood painted now with a fender roll. After maybe xpel film.
Yes I understand that the springs are over the dampers on the stock setup, but people still say coil overs and there is nothing at all wrong with pss10s, they are great for a street car. The brakes are being refreshed, I agree the stock brakes are pretty good.
If you are just awful refrain from reaching out to me, if you are great like Steve then please do, I will take that job btw. Believe it or not I am a car enthusiast, I mean really who else would buy a 996tt these days.
Also I paid 44k for the car w 72k miles.

There's a lot of tire rub threads but sounds like you already did your homework.

That's a bunch of car for 44k, been toying with getting one myself, before finding a clean one becomes next to impossible..
How did the journey back home go? Taking a newly purchased used car that far is also an adventure.
Boom! Congratulations and welcome! It's not so much the wheels that are causing the rubb as it is the big tires and the springs are a little soft. Coil-overs will take care of it with adjustability and a better match. I just did one for Paul down here with the same springs and tires/issue. KW V1's are also a great choice for set it and forget it.

btw nyx - Check out the '996TT on TST' thread and you will see different responses.
i will keep reading! it appears as if the "new" owner of the actual car has just joined us and the thread so lets play nice
.. if so?? congrats on the car and knowing what you already do! they are not bmw's thats for sure.add: there ARE no bumps ( you'll have to take my word, i drive it daily as i have for YEARS!) on that stretch on mulholland especially near fire camp 13 and the the "juvie" detention" center. you may just have larger 19's ( i think kris mention he heard cf10's? GREAT wheel for the money =just not optimal, just better for TRACKING! that the ride height ( you said stock dampers w lowering springs if i heard you correctly?? ) that may be all you need is proper tire/wheel sizes OR coilover/suspension or even simply rolling your rear fender liners! that will accommodate those ( 19;
's on springs for sharp cornering.throttling/braking = bzzzzzt ) and possibly eliminate that awful rub. but that should not have happen :"there" was my point ..again, this is my life and hood. for fast canyon carving setups i know what works. we're not ALL a**holes!! just MOST of us lol...but that will quickly change now that you're "one of us" so.. welcome and if we can help or direct you to help? we will.
sambott from by design auto has already chimed in. he actually earns a living giving free advice LOL. welcome and cheers.....

it wasn't exactly an "in depth" tutorial! more like a passing mention in a quick first drive of someone other than the owners car. so i see nothing remiss in that aspect...

Good to see others out there buying these cars now that the opportunity is there. I quickly told myself if I didn't buy one they'd be goon soon, and got a very clean 57K mile car and am enjoying it like Nyx.
Also, wife and I love road trips, have done cross country 9x's.....anywhere from 4 days to 45....can't wait to get this car out on a journey with no destination and just a map.
fully agree. i'm at 7200 redline also and who KNOWS how many type 2's I've got ( or cares lol )

It's amazing, for how much you dislike the video....and apparently nyx......you sure seem to be posting a lot in both these threads.
That's what happens when you become a bitter dinosaur with nothing better to do.
Eh, I dont think rmc has done all that much to be honest. I think nyx is defensive based on some of the less than courteous posts on the two threads and lashing out at some.
This went from a good thing (the 996TT getting the good review it deserves) to a lot of "I would have done it better" real quick.
