Sucking Air
This morning I accelerated hard into an on ramp - and I acquired a sucking sound. If I give the engine some gas and let off I can hear a sucking sound. Is that the DV? Have I killed it and need to replace it?

No not necessarily. It just might be you haven't heard it before. The intake will make some noise. If the DV goes south you will typically have a loss of boost. Has that happened?
