Advised to upgrade intake hoses
Advised to upgrade intake hoses
Had my car on the dyno at Sportec (printout soon) and they said as I am hitting 1.2/1.3 bar on standard turbos/hoses I at least need to upgrade the hoses, as especially at altitude the left hose can in certain circumstances starve the Turbo of air flow.
Who makes the appropriate wider hoses please, whats the parts cost and then I guess labour is pretty serious here ?
any input would be welcome.
Car registered just 463 rwhp but an amazing 750 nm, they were genuinely gobsmacked with the torque output.
fwiw, the torque (NM) was precisely double that of my mildly tuned Ferrari Stradale

HP = TQ * RPM
If a motor produces it's maximum torque at a lower
RPM, it can still be producing enough (if less) torque
at higher RPMs to make more power there. Eg:
max torque = 450 ft.lbs at 2500rpm
torque at 6000 rpm = 400 ft.lbs.

Just that I got them the hoses upgraded
Car has Upsolute (Turbo2 version), bailey DV's, Techart exhaust & cut back air box but with OEM paper filter. ( 98 Octane fuel in Europe)
So any recommendations for wider hoses and a guestimate of labour ?

I would guess Sportec is talking about an intake plenum?? Are they talking about that or the hoses above?? As far as I know the ones above don't do anything for performance, they were to help fix the faulty OEM ones...
If they are talking about a plenum, they are right, the stock one is quite restrictive!! You can see more info on it here:

RichardCH,
Check with Sportec and if they are talking about the stock black rubber intake hoses, i recommend you the EVO Boost Hose Kit. They come in red or black, are made from silicone, and do not leak or blow out at higher boost or during hard accelerations.
If that is what you need, try to get them while they are on discount.
I have had them on my car for more than 18 months and had no issues what so ever.
