Here is a pic of the clip commonly used on Porsche interior trim panels. There is a small foam disc added around the clip to prevent any rattles. Due to the age and miles on my car, all the foam discs were either missing or completely collapsed. I removed the remaining amount of foam and found some felt strip that Mercedes commonly used and is available by the roll from the Benz dealer. I cut some discs and attached to the clips.

Here is a view with the new felt added. After adding new felt, and reinstalling headliner, a more solid "snap" was felt and there was absolutely no way this would rattle ever again.

While on my trip away, I managed to score a set of grey sport seats for 996. The leather is in bad shape looking at the pictures. i found a few places online that offer replacement covers but the grain is simply off. Smooth grain like factory is a bit more difficult to find. I need centers perforated, smooth grain like original, porsche crest in headrest. If anyone knows of anyone that supplies such covers, let me know.

You need to have them refinished by Robert Budd @ Classic 9. They will come out like OEM. It's 2k for the set minus shipping but well worth it!

Today I was able to get the springs installed in the front of the car. Pics to follow. I opted to get the lowering springs vs the full coilover set. I'll probably change it later on if ride height is an issue. Lower control arm ball joints were shot so those will be replaced as well. I also managed to start with the engine removal to add the carbon fiber tubes which are part of the Ruf R550 Package. Those pics will follow shortly also.

First pic shows stock vs RUF springs. Second pic shows Ruf springs installed in front.

I saw this car for sale on craigslist if I dont remember correctly. Was the milage unknown? If not what is the actual milage?

I saw this on CL advertised as mileage unknown and that was the red flag, is there any bent frame or anything?

The mileage is known, it is the actual documented mileage with proof. No bent frame. It did have a minor fender bender which damaged the bumper but nothing significant.
