I spent most of the day cleaning the interior of the car since all the interior panels were removed to pull all the glass out of the car. I have a pretty extensive leather package including the headliner and thought this would be the best time to rejuvenate it. The rear seat backs were pretty hard on the tops due to the sun beating against them. I used some leather rejuvenator oil from Griot's Garage. Ive used the product in the past and have had good luck with it. With all pieces removed from the car, I cleaned all the dust from their backsides and took them home. I have a room in my garage where my solar inverter sits which gets pretty warm. When using the rejuvenator oil, the warmer the room, the better. I applied some oil on all leather surfaces. Within a few hours, the oil was soaked into the leather. Especially where the stitches were. I continued to apply over the weekend. The seat tops were now soft to feel where as before they were cardboard hard. I will wait for the replacement sunroof track to come in (thanks pwdrhound for the great deal) Once the track comes in, I'll inspect, lubricate all sliding surfaces and install all trim back. Porsche applies small adhesive foam around the clips on the back side of their trim. This prevents any rattles and noises when driving. However, in a 14 year old car, all the foam is compressed or gone. I'll reapply some new stuff to dampen any noise. I hate interior creaks and noises.

Looks like you're doing it right. Glad to help with the sunroof!

Hi macmann, can you elaborate more on the rear wing on your list? That isn't something listed in their current online catalog... I've thought often of putting the front bumper on my car (has the 550 engine package), but never go through with it, as I'd prefer to do a balanced front and rear change. I should probably email Ruf directly to ask, but hoping to understand what you're doing. Thanks!

Unfortunately, I believe I got the last wing available and that's probably why it's not on their site anymore. THe rear wing looks similar to the GT2 996 wing. It's only the wing part. Not decklid. It mounts to your original hydraulics.

It's a full carbon wing, light as a feather. I sold mine to a member here last year.

I managed to install the replacement sunroof unit provided by pwdrhound today. Thanks again. Works beautifully. It's a pain to install the lower panel that slides. I cleaned the tracks and lubricated with special sliding grease used for sunroof tracks. It operates flawlessly now. Unfortunately due to a planned family trip, I won't be able to get back to this project till Monday. I'm ready to reinstall the interior of the vehicle. I also scored a pair of grey sport seats which will go into this car. The leather was beyond usable so I will have to order replacement covers as well. I'll post pics soon.

I also got the rear hydraulics rebuilt including the pistons in the drive unit. All three parts were leaking. All seals were replaced with Viton seals for prolonged life. Unit was refilled with fresh oil and reinstalled. I'll take a pic of the rear wing also.

Others have been told that the internals couldn't be rebuilt - can you give sources for the Viton seals used for the rebuild? I'm on GT2 stuff but this has been a real sore spot for others...

I sent the units out to get repaired. It's half of the cost of new. I'll post info shortly.
