Question for you about when you polished the car. I noticed the 996tt has a lot more exposed rubber seals then any previous car I detailed. Did you tape off all the seals around the windows before you started polishing or did you just try to not touch them with polish/wax?

BTW, your car came out great. Can't wait to do my black (new to me) 996tt. I always had great success with BLACKFIRE Wet Diamond sealant after claybar and good polish.

Steps I follow to detail...
-Wash
-decontaminate paint...clay, or alternative clay mitt
-Assess paint...good, average (light swirls), or neglected
-DA w/ proper pads using compound, or polish depending on what condition paint...neglected paint may need compound and polish

If paint is good condition I can skip compound/polish

-use a pre wax cleaner, sometimes a glaze
-sealant, or wax...I prefer to use sealant, let it cure, then top it with carnuba wax about once a month (I will sometimes use DA to apply glaze,sealant, and wax...optional)
-touch it up with a spray wax, or quick detailer in between and I get nice comments from many people.
-oh yeah...use good quality microfiber towels...you need quite a few to do a full detail

As stated above a DA polisher can be easy to use with the proper pads and products. There are some great detailing sites that provide solid information on how to get started. For the cost of having someone fully detail your car you can buy a solid detailing kit and have plenty of product to last a long time.
