Tail of the Dragon Video Purchase Response Needed

Guys,
After much research, this is the proposed content for the video:
  1. Between 9:00am and 12:00pm at the hotel, participants will be invited to go to a preset location in the hotel parking lot with their car to provide a short 30 second to 2 minute interview with the videographer. The interview can EITHER be a voice over his video of your car (for those camera shy people) OR your ugly mug on video describing your car OR none at all. The interview should tell viewers about your car and its mods as well as any interesting or fun stuff relating to your drive there.
  2. General shots of the cars parked in the parking lot prior to the 12:00pm departure to the Tail of the Dragon.
  3. The first 25 miles of the trip to the Tail are on the I40 interstate. The videographer will have a minivan with doors on three sides. The intent is to have him in the right lane and we would one at a time drive up to him from behind and pass him on cue using our radios to stage it. In general we would like to get a slow drive by so that we can see the cars in motion. Fast drive bys are also possible if you wish. I40 is two lanes each way. The drive bys will catch the car approaching from the front, passing and watching and hearing the exhaust upon passing.
  4. After we exit the interstate, the road turns into one lane each way to the best of our knowledge. At this point we will have a lot of this type of road to drive. We would like to send the videographer ahead while we take a rest stop and then once he is positioned around a good vantage point, we will leave to approach and pass him. This is planned to occur a minimum of once and maximum of three times. Again, this will only be minimally impactful since it will only involve a short 5-10 minute rest while we allow the videographer a chance to drive ahead and set up.
  5. We will rest at the start of the TOD section of Route 129 to collect everyone. The videographer will shoot video at this stop. This stop will also serve to space people out a bit so we are not on top of each other during the actual TOD run.
  6. We will stop after the 11 mile stretch of the TOD section to collect everyone. The videographer will shoot video at this stop.
  7. You will have the opportunity to submit your own MiniDV videotape for inclusion in the editing of the final cut.
After the TOD run, we will be heading back to the hotel along our planned loop. There will be more secondary roads and eventually we will get back on the interstate into Asheville. Darkness will fall in the mid afternoon so after the TOD, any video shot will be a bonus.

I realize that some, but not all, of you are interested in this video. Because of this, it is designed to be minimally impactful so that it does not hamper any of our fun or excitement. In order to commit to this I really need to have a headcount of interested parties. The final video will be approximately 40 minutes to 1 hour long depending on the extent of personal MiniDV submissions.

Following is a sample of costs based upon the number of video copies desired:
10 copies = $300/copy
15 copies = $200/copy
20 copies = $150/copy
30 copies = $100/copy
40 copies = $75/copy
50 copies = $60/copy
60+ copies = $50/copy

I need 2 things from all of you IMMEDIATELY!!!!!!!!

FIRST:
Rock solid commitment on how many videos you will want. Participants can send me a return email with the number of copies desired, board members can simply reply here. Remember, the more people the less the cost!!!!! So if you are not part of this event, but want the video, it still helps!!!

SECOND:
After I determine the number required, I will indicate the cost to all interested parties at which point I will need a check Fedex’d to me by Wednesday, November 26. THAT IS IN TWO DAYS!!!! ACT QUICKLY!!

Please guys, give this your immediate attention. It will be a really great thing to have when it is all over.

Regards,
Ken

Ken, you have my rock solid commitment that I will pay up to $150 for one copy of the video.

If you do not get enough people to get to the $150 price point, I am sorry, but I cannot go higher.

Would it help reduce the cost if you offered the entire video for download instead of on DVD?

The copying costs are miniscule compared to the cost of the videographer and his driver as well as the post production editing.

luting_chen,
I fully agree. Nobody really wants to spend that much. That is why this call is being made. We are trying to get the cost down to the $50 mark. Thanks for your support guys!!
