Floaty feeling at high speed?

I have a factory aerokit wing and aftermarket GT2 front bumper and front lip. At about 230km/h (140mph), the car started feeling really floaty. I'm wondering if it's due to not having the factory matching aerokit front spoiler, the one that sticks out forward with the 2 slots. Any thought?

Yeah, I would guess that a mismatch in aero at that type of speed would definitely not be optimal. Is the GT2 front bumper installed with proper ducting (so the vent on top of the bumper works)? If not I'd guess that would probably make matters worse. Hopefully some others will chime in with their thoughts.

My guess is alignment combined with the soft stock spring rates.

I would start with getting your alignment checked.

Later, Steve

Good point. I don't think the full GT2 duct work and rad flip conversion was completed by the previous owners shop. That could be the problem.

I have JIC Cross coilovers installed. They have really firm springs so I don't think that's the problem. Alignment feels dead on up to 120+ mph as well.

I dont think either its the aero. Check aligment.
I use areolip in front and a bigger wing on the rear. Car runs smooth over 300 km/h

Ok, I'll look into that. But would alignment issue drive fine up to 220km/h but then show up past that?
Maybe lack of aero lip in front thought?

From what I understand, the GT2 front is far superior aerodynamically than any of the Turbo options if the ducting is done correctly. Does it feel like its getting floaty from the front or the rear (steering is light or the back feels like it wags)?

I didn't give it too much time to "feel" it out at that speed but initially it felt like the front end.
The more I think about it, if the gt2 front is not duct properly, that extra air will go under the car instead of above it and lift the car up. That makes sense to me know. That's likely the issue.

I can agree with that.. aero either works by creating a high pressure or a low pressure area in contrast to the other side of the car to either pull or push it against the road surface. If it does not work correctly, it can create lift which sounds like what you are experiencing.

Likely aero. These cars produce lift at high soeeds.

With a previous not-996 car I had it get floaty at higher speed and ended up fixing it by correcting the rake.

I agree with this, I have a lower ratio front to back height from stock and the faster I go the more planted it feels and that's with 4S front lip spoiler.

I'm on PSS10's with Eibach sways F & R.

+1 on rake and air ducting...even a 996tt stock aero doesn't have issue at that speed...a GT2 'flat-out' doesn't have aero issues...

BTW, adjusting the rear-wing angle on a GT2 has a pronounced effect on slipperiness and DF....
