Thinking of heading to local track to lay down some 1/4 miles...

Can someone tell me the best technique to ensure a nice responsive start for a Tip?

Easy...

Put it in 1st gear manually. Turn off the PSM. Push the brake pedal ALL the way with your left foot. With your right foot press the accelerator (fairly hard) to hold about 2800rpms or more (unless it brakes loose). Use the hand brake for more force if need be... Then let go of the brake and simultaneously floor the gas. Make sense?

If you have non-stock brakes you can do more...

 

Just don't be a chucklehead and pull the ABS/PSM fuse. Right Alex!

 

Heheh You could do that... I highly recommend everyone try that at least once (actually please DO NOT do that).

You and me both! I'm not sure what was worse. The night before the fact or the day itself? I know for a fact, I am NEVER EVER going to vegas again

 

Um.. with my brakes the way they are the car goes into a 360-720 pretty darn quickly.

 

Sounds pretty exciting, so how much free radius do you need?

does anyone brake torque the 6 speed MT at the track?
... with the hand break.

 

put the car in neutral/rev/stick it into drive??
