Speedtech 3" X-pipe installed
Well, good & bad.
The bad 1st; its loud, very loud and drones real bad under load below 3000 RPM.
My ears were ringing after a short test drive around town & on the highway.
The good: Above 3000 rpm it really sings & is a very pleasant sound. Problem is u hardly are ever driving at 3-4000 rpm range. Also sounds super mean at idle.
I need to drive it more- but long trips are surely out of the question. Your wife will kill you.
Im fairly sure I will trade in the cat bypass pipes for 100 cel cats.

I figured it would be very loud. If you went from stock exhaust to this it was probably a shock. I went from stock to the 2.5 quiet and I was shocked at first how much louder that was so I can only imagine yours. I drove it for a while and got used to it
Yours is on another level but give it a little while and see how you feel

It's the combination of catless and dual 3" tips - that's too much/loud for most everyone. I always recommend 100 cpi cats and our sound engineered single round tips on the 3.0 X-Pipe, together they make a huge difference in sound level and drone and the same pipe becomes very comfortable, yet still sounds mean and fantastic. Most customers go with our recommendations and are very happy. Whenever I see a customer spec a system differently than our recommendations, I always feel there may be issues. I have driven all of these configurations extensively, so I have very good insight as to what I feel works best. Catless works much better on the 2.5, it's a lot on a 3" system. And the dual 3" tips let out a lot of sound.
Now that said, there are easy solutions to tweak your system. If you want to retain the look of the dual tips, I have developed a "plug" for one outlet. This alone will quell the drone considerably. Then substitute our 100cpi cats for the bypass pipes and you will have a substantially different system. It will still be very loud and aggressive, but it will be comfortable and enjoyable. Most wives are fine with it when set up this way.
I am in Germany until next week, but shoot me an email if you decide you want to make some tweaks and we can work it out...
