Yes the '02 has a subwoofer and glove box. I don't know what the subwoofer and enclosure weigh, but it's not very much. As for the glove box, Porsche just cut out the '01 dash and created the glove box. I'd guess there isn't any more than a pound or two difference there over the '01.

My 2001 TT weighed 3,634 full of gas. I had a lot of factory options and a Reus SST stereo but otherwise stock.

The only 996 to weigh 2,540 is a 996 Cup. The GT3 R/RS/RSR race car weighted about 2,450 and I believe was the lightest 996.
