Question for the Ruf Bumper owners

I had the Ruf bumper professionally installed at a reputable shop a year or two ago and while it looks the part I have always questioned if the ducting was done properly. When I look down through the front vent I don't see any ducting going down and looking in through the front the radiator seems tilted towards the back at the top and not the bottom.

Can anyone who has this bumper (or the install instructions) confirm if this sounds right? I'll be mighty peeved if they messed up the install considering the correcting ducting was why I went for the official product.

Thanks!

its easy enough to check. pull the bumper cover and look at the center rad. it should lean forward and there is a duct in front of the rad and also behind it. only a few screws on each side and some in the front to remove the cover

When Irish had his done the shop couldn't figure out the center duct and left it out - they returned it to him. They did tilt the radiator at least! We had to notch the crash bar a bit and fiddle to figure it out but it wasn't bad. Hopefully if they didn't install it you have the parts :-O

What concerned me was going through the box and finding brand new hoses... But the ducting all looked like it was for the previous bumper which was sold. Now I'm even more concerned

if you use the gt2 crash bar spacers the fit is fine and the tow hook works as it should. without the spacers the tow hook is to short to fit

Apparently RUF has instructions to notch the bar. Most of it was done by the body shop but we had to do a little work to make the center duct work, he took pics and wrote it up here somewhere. I actually Need to pull my front bumper and see if mine is setup properly, I won't take bets that it is...

Top picture is before center ducting was added. Bottom is with rear of center duct added. The front portion is riveted to the center radiator.

Yes the RUF instructions show to notch the lower portion of the crash brace.

macmann your center ducting looks very different than mine. I'm on my second RUF front bumper and my opening is significantly larger than yours, it literally fits the opening in the bumper itself. I'm wondering if yours is maybe a gt2 center duct or if by chance it's backwards. For reference here's the link to the thread where I had to trim the center ducting back some. https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...nt-bumper.html

The RUF instructions are honestly not the best, but they're not impossible to follow either. I'm now on my second bumper and it's definitely smoother sailing this time around. If you have any questions I'm happy to help.

James
