I'm looking at head gaskets for my build and I've read that many have done just fine with the stock gasket in high HP builds. I would have to ream out the holes for my studs, but the stock gaskets are only $75 at Pelican and would help my budget. Will the stock gasket do?

stock works fine on a 10mm stud build. the cometics are multilayer and laser cut on a table to ensure no jagged edges that can leak . not worth the risk for 150$

 

Our gaskets are made specifically for both the 10mm and 12mm studs. OEM gaskets are great but if you are using 12mm studs then I wouldn't risk it. We have them made for the 12mm stud conversion.

 

I'd only modify a head gasket if I couldn't obtain one that was specific to my needs. If EVOMS is having quality gaskets made for this application and doesn't charge a mint I'd buy them. In fact I'd probably buy a spare set too!
