White Gauge Faces

Has anyone had or heard of anyone that had issues getting gauge faces color changed? I sent my gauge cluster to a VERY reputable vendor in California to have them changed to white. Initially I wanted them orange but was told they couldn't do orange and settled on white. After waiting almost 3 months, the gauge cluster was sent back to me because they stopped doing the colorization due to issues with 993 and 996 gauges. Until they had a solution, they were no longer going to do them.

I'd love to hear from anyone that had a similar issue.

NR Auto has white, yellow, and aluminum replacement faces. About $200 a set.

FVD has white, yellow, red, guards red, and silver replacement faces. About $300 a set.

I've seen the faces for sale. I'm more concerned that there is an issue with doing the faces either by myself or having a "professional" do them. I would think that as long as 993s and 996s have been out, someone would've run across an issue with doing the faces way before now. After being told that such a reputable vendor suspended doing the faces because of a problem they have no fix for, I'd don't feel comfortable either doing it myself or even sending to another vendor without hearing from a few folks if anyone has ever heard of an issue.

I do appreciate your response though. Thanks

Be aware that pulling the needles off and reinstalling subjects the delicate needle drive gears to risk of failure. I had a set of FVD white gauge faces installed and the needles are now unresponsive. Use caution.

It is easy to push the needles back on too far. If you do that, they may bind and become "unresponsive". Just pry them back up a bit and they should be fine.
