Turbo Headers

Would Headers add any significant HP to a Stage II set up? Who sells the best set up?

sld7,

Save your money. You are not in a range where headers would help much, if at all.

Do the bigger turbos with software to match. Do you already have an Exhaust? I assume so...

There's plenty of options but I'm assuming you're on K16 stockers right? If so then that'd be the way to go... honestly.

Well talk to Stephen then. He'll be able to sort you out with something way better than those

That'll be your best upgrade along with a software update...

sld7. Where the headers are concerned, there is no great HP gain. 5 HP at the most if installed without other mods. I have people in Europe who have tested headers currently available. On their own, and with different HP levels. With changing turbos, intake pipes, intercoolers, end muffler and ecu re-map, I was told headers gave in the range of 8 to 10 HP. Thats it.

You have a good end muffler that gives power. Maybe consider k-24 race turbos and a good ecu program and save the approx 2k investment in buying the headers. Porsche did a good job on current design where they really don't need changing.

I have been contemplating upgrading from stage 2 to stage 3 or 4 with the larger turbos, but, from looking at the hp and torque graphs, low end is almost identical to stock, the big surge is in the high RPM range, I just do not do that kind of driving. The stage two has large power gains in low and mid-range which is why I liked it. Also, I worry that with the larger turbos, I will have more lag regardless of the chip I use. Any comments??

Lou, I totally agree with you. I am looking for some more power in the 1500-3500 rpm range. For me 4000-6500 rpm driving does not happen that often.

Their has to be something we can do to get more low end power, no?
