Which Mode is faster for a Tiptronic? Auto or Manual Mode?

OK51MON is infamous around these parts
Which Mode is faster for a Tiptronic? Auto or Manual Mode?
I read somewhere that if you leave the car in auto mode that it will shift faster than in manual mode.


Is this true?

not the answer you are looking for but from stop to full acc... leaving it in first gear and manual mode and let it autoshift. This will allow it to shift at redline versus auto mode as sometimes it will shift early.

Good question. At the drag strip I have always used manual mode . I will have to compare the two at the strip.

no numbers to back it up, but seat of pants says letting it do its own thing/auto is quickest...(dad's 6TT Tip)
