Hell yes you will feel the difference. Let me rephrase that, right now a stage 2 car will SMOKE your x50. Once you chip it this willnot be the case. If you race a stock S or X50 after you have been chipped it will be REAL noticable. Best money you can spend per hp dollar. Exhaust will also maximize it. But chip first. Ask Neil at orton about the 520 kit. That is what I am interested in.

Honestly, I don't think you should at this time. Like everything else, there is a risk/reward ratio that it doesn't look like you are comfortable with. Just follow the forum and wait ubtil you feel better about it.

Hey guys,

I also have been following the forum for advice for maximum mod's for the money. I've had my X50 for about 8 months and it already feels a little slow. I'm not ready to sink 20+K into a GT package, but want maximum power for the money. For the money, would everyone agree the following are the best Mod's for under 10K?
1. GIAC chip
2. Exhaust (i'm liking the AWE system)
3. Diverter Valves (Evo)
4. Air induction (Evo)

Thanks and Happy New Year!

quick question, with flash loader to return to stock program for the ECU... will this still be detectable by the dealer?

Every tuner that I asked that question tells me NO. I want to know will changing Exhaust, Diverter Valves, Air intake, Chip have any effect on my factory warranty? I still have a lot of years and miles left on my warranty and don't want to screw it up!

Diverter Valves and the Ehxuast won't affect any warranty- that's 100% fact. The issue of "chipping" is slightly different. It's a grey area... "Chipping" or hardware modification to your existing ECU can certainly mean if you have an engine failure and the dealer proves it is because of that chip- then yes your warranty is bye bye. However, when done in software and in a "don't show, don't tell" sort of way you can switch between your "stock" mode and "performance" mode. At least with the GIAC Flashing you can... However, there are still some dealers that will deny warranty claims because they 'can' even when it's no fault of the ECU program. On the flip side there are certain delearships which actually are AUTHORIZED EVO/GIAC installers/distributors.... so that throws a spanner in the works.

My point is this, if you have a good relationship with the dealer and intend on "chipping" the car, do so with a "Flash" and in "software". The GIAC stuff is handy because you can just switch from Performance and Stock modes so there's no reason for the dealer to know.
