three things i need to confess......

1. i think we are going to ruin our gt2 this week. Just got 19" wheels for the car. I love the way the wheels will look, but it's totally against all taht the gt2 stands for.

i still wonder why they didnt make super light 18s for the car... but i am not gonna argue.

2. Just got an 06 E55... the car is incredibly fast but I hate the fact that its a merc.... anyone recommend a company that makes a good prodcut to make the car a real beast? I think renntech is local to me (palm beach), is that the tuner I should focus on? what mod is the best for a daily driven e55?

3. We are going to be doing the IA stg 2 in the next month and I have a raging hard boner now...

You should look at Kleemann for your E55. You should get a pulley kit and ECu upgrade and a LSD. Renntech is good too.

Also, if you hate the fact that it is a Merc, why did you buy it?

There are companies that make lightweight 18" applications for the GT2.

As Perokid mentioned, Kleeman is a great company for that car. ECU,Tune, and headers would net 570hp/575tq. give or take. And as Jasclass said, there are definately lightweight 18's for the gt2. Maybe you just havent been pointed in the right direction yet. Hope that helps a bit! Marc

I would do the same as far as mods go for the E55. The car is alot of fun to drive and personally I prefer the E55 over the M5 any day. Then you need to send it to Arizona and get the audio done at me friends shop

as far as the GT2 is concered, so what if you have19's for daily use, just get some 18" Fikse wheels for the track days..... you do track it don't you????????

I agree with the others. Kleemann is the way to go with the Merc. Do the Stage 3 package and you should be happy. Pulley + ECU + Headers + Camshafts + Complete Exhaust System.

for e55, i'd definitely go with Kleemann mods. brabus is quality, but their K8 system runs close to 13,500. the kleemann pulleys, ecu go for a little under 3500 and add headers you're close to 7k. many e55 owners have had major success with kleemann mods, and i've not heard of any problems. a quality outfit.

there are plenty of lightweight 18's for the gt2. 18's are desirable not only because of a smaller rotational diameter and unsprung weight, but also because of the potential to run R-Compound tires if you want to. hard to find R-Compounds for the track if you go 19's. i really really love the look of the BBS Motorsport Racings in 18's, get them in aluminum for the street.

ahhah sorry for all the bad spelling... it was VERY early/late in the day . thanks for pointing me to kleeman. I guess i should consider them over renntech, huh? I figured because they were local they would be the better choice. where is the best place to order kleeman parts?

as for the 19"s on the gt2, we already have the set of 19s purchased. THe consensus here at the homestead was that the car needed more pizzazz.... i was the only one voting for the 18s... or if they had to be 19s, i suggested the kinesis f110s or the champions... we went the total opposite direction and went with the DPEs. A little bling for a garage-queen supercar that never sees the track . I know thats going to **** some people off.. such a waste.

Damm, lucky guy you are, e55 and GT2 haha.. Well as you all know i have my 996tt and sold the 540 hp SC M3 for it.. Turbo is def a great car and i love it, but im not having fun in it at all and even at stage 2 i think my M3 was much quicker from a highway pull Maybe its the AWD that makes everything so subdued and im a RWD freak, i dunno.

ANYWAY i was looking at an E55 which is cutting to the chase, but i think i would be crazy to trade up turbo for e55, how do you like it? I think i need a damm GT2

I think you need to catch a ride in a stage 3 or stage 4 TT.......I would think that a 570hp AWD TT would walk all over a 500 hp M3.........don't you?
