Turbo Racer is infamous around these parts
Tech question -- I'm loose!!

So, now after about 1000+ miles on the turbo, understeer is a problem. I'm getting a pretty good push about halfway into the corners. Coming out I'm ok as a little throttle and the awd system does a pretty good job on egress. I've heard lots said about the pss9 system as this seems to be the solution. To a lesser extent, H&R is now being used on the GT cars I think. Anyway, the warranty thing is important -- ie keeping it and would like your guys input. BTW my car was certified by porsche 11-04-03 and I was told that my contis were in great shape (more than 50% of life left) and I'm running stock 18" turbo twists. Many of you all have given me great information on whats what so TIA for your comments. Hope the shoot out goes well. Good luck gents

ta

Geoff

Try some adjustable bars first -- that would be the ideal way to dial out any understeer (push) or oversteer (loose) tendencies your car is exhibiting. I do believe the stock Turbo will greatly benefit from a quality coil over setup, however you'll still need adjustable bars to be able fine tune the understeer/oversteer factor to your liking. BTW, all stock Turbos have inherent understeer -- it's dialed in by the factory. Just my 2 cents.

The cheapest first steps...

IF you're getting too much push, the first cheap things
are to adjust tire pressure, and to check your allignment.
If you have too little negative camber, or too much toe-in
and/or your tire pressure is off badly, you'll push.
Old tires get hard and don't stick, even though there's
lots of tread life left.
