wheels offset and width for 996 turbo
wheels offset and width for 996 turbo
Hi guys, I'm trying to order a new set of wheels for my 2001 Porsche 996 turbo from BC Forged. The size will be 19 inch all around. I checked with the original spec and for the 996 turbo:
(factory)
18 x 8: offset 50: 225/40/18
18 x 11: offset 45: 295/30/18
I'm trying to get the custom set up with little bit stance and aggrestive look.
(New set up)
19 x 8.5: offset 40: 235/30/19
19 x 11.5: offset 30: 295/30/19
is that the maximum I can do? and is it able to turn without touching the fender?
thank you
Is your car still AWD? Keep in mind that ideally the AWD wants to see approximately the same overall diameter of tires front to rear. Is your car lowered?
Sounds like the offset of the front should be ok fitment wise, the rear seems really aggressive. I am on 19's as well but much more conservative 19x8.5 fronts with 53mm offset (will probably be adding 10mm spacers since there is still a bit of room to move the wheels out) and 19x11 with 32 offset rear (seems like I could still bring the wheels out a bit). I'm running 225/40/19 front tires and 295/30/19 rears so AWD is happy and no rubbing.
You should ping flewis763, he has done some serious tire size maxing on 19's. Look here---> https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...-big-tire.html
Hopefully a few others with more aggressive offsets will chime in

Ok I'll help you out here but need to know a few things. first are you awd, second are you going to roll the fenders, third are you willing to mod your liners and front radiator brackets.
Hi Flesi763, thank you so much for your help!
1. My 996 turbo is Awd.
2. I will not roll my fenders
3. I will not mod my liners and front radiator brackets.
I'm trying to get a custom wheels and I don't want to order the wrong offset and width. tires I think it will be: 235/35/19 front & 305/30/19, is it right?
What will be the best Width & offset for that?
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!

Thank you very much for your reference and it does HELP A LOT!!!!!
Ok being you don't want to roll the fenders you are super limited. first a 235/35, 305/30 setup is not good. being you don't want to roll fenders I'd suggest a 235/35, 295/30 setup for and. if you were going to roll the fenders, a 245/35 I'm the front with a 305/30 would work but without rolling, the fronts don't work well.
as for offsets then, a 8.5+45 I'm front and a 11+40 rear would be ideal. you will I'm not way have a flush and stanced look though. you half to roll the fenders if you want anything close to that.
pastime and I run the 2 more aggressive setups I believe. It's requires willingness to roll the fenders, mod the liners, and trim the front radiator brackets to do so.
I run a 255/35/19 and 325/30/19 on my car but red. John runs a 275/35/18 and 335/30/18 rear. I will be running that same set up though for road course next year.

My new wheels are 19 X 9 F +54 OS and 19 X 12 R +45 OS. Any idea how that would fit and what spacers I would need for the 245 305 tire combo? AWD and I am willing to modify everything.

Bernard, with that setup you should be able to run a 15mm spacer up front and a 10mm in the rear. Also I'd suggest changing camber setups to much more that stock tt. if run 1.8-2 in the front an 1.5-1.8 in the rear.
Those are the set up i am kind of looking for. I know the pictures i shown are too aggrestive, but for the rear, if i am willing to roll the fender, what is the best set up I can get to look skmiliar with the grey porsche? Say 19 x 8.5, offset 38-40? 19 x 11.5 40 offset or 19 x 11, 35 offset?
Thx
I look at it this way when ordering wheels as well. It's very easy to add a 3,5,7,10mm spacer to get it the way you want it, pretty hard bring the wheel in if you order an offset to aggressive. always be on the low side..
Well you can see on fine the fronts you only need to roll a bit, especially running a 235 tire. just the top section. my rears are rolled beyond what anyone else has ever done. I rolled and pull then a lot. was I'd over 1/2 inch wider a side.
I run a 9+40 up front with a 5mm spacer as well with 255/35/19 which are super tall tires. rears I run 12+40 With a 325/30/19 but I run the stock toe adjuster all the way out and used my adjustable dog box bones to set camber. because I'd this my rear is essentially a 12+30.
yes they work fine. I have an Eastwood roller but I bought that back when there were eBay ones many years ago. essentially they are identical. you need a heat gun to but you can get that at any hardware store.
also for Porsche lug spacing you will need to cut the end of the hole out with a cut off wheel. takes a few mine to do. I'll take a pic of mine here for ya.

an 8.5+40 and 11+35 on a 235/295 setup will get you fairly closer. I'd still suggest doing a partial roll on the front fenders as well though.

19 x 8.5j 40 offset front
19 x 11j 40 offset rear
once the wheels arrive, I will share with you ^^
