Help me decide whether or not to buy this tt.

2001 seal gray on black, 23k miles. Mint condition. 5,000 miles ago had evoms stage 2, with fabspeed exhaust, stage 1 clutch, short shifter, intake.
He wants 72k and wont budge an inch. It would be a big stretch for me to come up with the 72. He says hes put 15k into the upgrades. Is this a good deal. Can some recent buyers chime in? Im thinking maybe I should wait and find something closer to 60k but I want the stage 2 badly! Thx

Low 70's seems about right if the car is in great condition.

That's a GREAT deal. I just spent the last few months intensively watching TT sales and low 70's for a TT with milege in the low 20's is as good as it gets........all the add on hipo stuff is just icing on the cake. That car would sell fairly quickly for that price with that milege even if it didn't have ANY extras..........AND if you love the color.........then I would pull the trigger on it......

If $72k is stretching it.......what are you going to do if it needs a $2k repair, new tires (an every year thing), or a 30k service ($1k). You won't get anything decent for $60 (except from Dario), but $65 is doable.

Also, for modded cars, a thorough PPI is a must.......and you have to wonder how hard it was treated.

Not trying to hijack, but my local dealer has a (completely stock) 2001 Polar Silver/ black tt with 13,000 miles. Asking $74,900, with warranty until '07. Is it a good deal?

(my dad is also looking for a turbo, so I figured I'd ask since we're on the topic).

And back on topic, the car you are looking at sounds like a good deal because the mods are quality.

Joe,
How well optioned is it? A full carbon fiber package can go for $9k, and it is well worth it. On the surface, $75k is high but they should be able to take $3k off.

Terribly optioned. Hi-fi stereo.

Our dealer (Brandywine Porsche) doesnt keep cars for more than 90 days, so after the first 30, if the car isn't sold, there is room for negotiation. Right now, they won't budge. I was just wondering, thanks Shark.

you want 60k turbo eh? better bottom feed for high mileage versions... or wait until 997 Turbo comes out in full force 6 months to a year.

Low 70k is about right. I'd go for it.

As for your budget, only you can decide. With mods on the car, you should set aside some money if something goes wrong.

Thx for the feedback. This car has the small carbon fiber pkg. Also it has the row suspension. No warranty though. Any more opinions?
